(Mountain View, CA)  --  Google is going whitewater rafting down the Colorado River.

Google Maps launching a "river view" that captures a 360-degree photo sphere every few seconds for almost 300 miles through the Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona.

It marks the first time Google has used the Street View technology on a major whitewater river in the U.S.  A Street View camera traveled up a tributary of the Amazon in 2011.
