Columbus Short was in court yesterday to answer to a charge of felony aggravated battery. As we told you, the “Scandal” star punched a guy last month at an engagement party after he made disparaging comments about his wife. ContactMusic reports that prosecutors asked for – and got – a restraining order to keep Columbus away from the man.

The man who got punched has said that he didn’t want to press charges. TMZ said that he and Columbus run in the same circles, and he’d rather settle the situation civilly that to drag it into the criminal system. Word is that he’d go away for getting his medical bills paid.

So far Short hasn’t commented on the situation. If he’s convicted, he could face up to four years in jail. Stay tuned…

Justin Bieber has a busy schedule to upkeep, he doesn't have time for any measly court hearings. The "Toronto Star" is reporting the 20-year-old skipped his latest court date yesterday, leaving his lawyers to handle the situation.

It's hard to keep Biebz' legal woes straight, but this hearing was for the assault charges he faces after supposedly attacking his limo driver on December 30th, 2013. The good thing about Bieber not showing up to court? No fans or paparazzi did either. The hearing reportedly "wrapped almost as soon as it began," which both sides agreeing to reappear on May 12th.

Biebz isn't expected to make an appearance until a trial date, which reportedly won't be set until the fall.

It was a busy weekend for Taylor Swift. Not only did she drop by "Saturday Night Live," but she also managed to give one of her fans the surprise of a lifetime. Swift crashed Gena Gabrielle's bridal shower in Columbus, Ohio on Sunday.

The singer had met Gabrielle at a meet and greet back in 2007 and the two managed to become friends after that. "I had no idea it was going to happen," Gena told "Today." "[Taylor] said she planned it with her management and her mom. She said it was all worth it because my face was priceless."

Oh, and don't think T Swift gave only her appearance as a gift. The bride-to-be tweeted a picture of the insane spread of kitchenware she got from the singer, writing "thank you so much for everything... I can't thank you enough."

It might be an awkward mother's day at the Selena Gomez's. As TMZ reported over the weekend, the pop star fired her mom and stepdad as her managers. Her mom, Mandy Teefay not tells the site she had no idea they were on the chopping block. In fact, she found out from TMZ!

Teefay adds that she had a sit down with her daughter and husband after the site broke the story that the pop star had outgrown her homegrown management and made sure Gomez wanted to move in a different direction, which she does. Teefay and Gomez' stepfather have been managing the 21-year-old since her big break at Disney and while Teefay "respects her daughter's decision," she is having a "hard time processing the fact that she's no longer Selena's manager."

It's not a complete break, however. Gomez's mom said she's still producing "several" movie projects with her daughter, including the upcoming "The Sky Is Everywhere."

Who knew that that Ben Seaver had a drinking problem? According to People, Jeremy Miller started drinking early age. The “Growing Pains” star said, “My grandparents actually tell a story about how at four years old, I would run around after their parties and clean up everybody’s beers.”

When “Growing Pains” went off the air in 1992, Jeremy was out of the spotlight. But his drinking was taking center stage in his life. In fact, he’d start off the day at the liquor store and drink until he passed out. He said, “My boys were afraid of me.” And he’d contemplated suicide, adding, “I’m glad I did not own a gun, because I hated myself so thoroughly, I would have done something stupid.

Fortunately, Miller was able to turn his life around. Now the 37-year-old – who’s married to Joanie – works as a patient advocate in a Santa Ana, California clinic. He credits counseling, therapy and an injection of anti-alcoholism drug Naltrexone – not yet approved by the FDA – for his recovery.

Robin Roberts is talking about how people reacted to her coming out in December. In an interview with Good Housekeeping, the “Good Morning America” host said that there was a lot of positive feedback about her girlfriend, Amber.

But there were others who thought that Robin should’ve said something about her lover of ten years sooner. To those people, she said, “News flash: Some people like their anonymity. This is what's right for me.”

Roberts added, “Love is love, and I'm grateful to have that. Sometimes there's a stigma attached to how people view you if you're living a certain way. But I don't care — you gotta live your life. You gotta find what happiness is and what it means for you, and you can't get caught up in what someone is saying about you on Twitter. You don't go through a year like I did to not be happy and not make your own choices.”

It turns out a new puppy wasn't the solution to Miley Cyrus' dog problems.  Cyrus is telling fans she's given away her newest furry friend Moonie, who was a gift from her mother following the death of Floyd, Miley's late Alaskan Klee Kai.

Miley tweeted that "it's just [too] soon for [her]," but thanked Moonie for giving her "so much love, comfort and peace" while she dealt with the loss of Floyd, who is rumored to have been killed by a coyote.  Miley seemed to make reference to the reports about Floyd's death, tweeting a fan that she's "scared [to] have a tiny dog" after "what happened."

Miley's "Bangerz" tour hits Kansas City, St. Louis, Nashville and Louisville this week, before wrapping up its North American leg at the end of the month.

Let the record show that Ice Cube was NOT pleased that he and Kevin Hart lost the Best On-Screen Duo MTV Movie Award to Vin Dieseland the late Paul Walker on Sunday. In fact, the word he used with E! Online was, “Robbed.”

The NWA rapper said, “Shame on you, MTV. [Kevin and I] had the best chemistry of everybody nominated, for us not to win was crazy. We were the best onscreen duo, period.” Cube said that it was the sympathy vote that put Walker over the top.

Naturally, Cube had to clarify his statements on Monday. On Twitter, the rapper explains that he was "really mad" at not winning.  As for his "sympathy" vote comment, he says he was just pointing out that it’s better to honor people before they die. He added that Walker’s fans shouldn’t trip because he was a fan, too.

Last night on "Dancing With the Stars," the celebs were back with their original partners and it was magical...literally. The night's theme was Disney, with each couple dancing to a song from a Disney movie.

The season's first perfect score we given out, and believe it or not, it didn't go to either Meryl Davis or Charlie White. James Maslow fromBig Time Rush snuck up behind the two gold medalists and snagged a 40 for their contemporary dance to "Let It Go" from "Frozen." That movie can really do no wrong.

The Disney magic didn't work for Cody Simpson, who had the lowest amount of fan votes and was voted off. Here's a run down of all the scores from last night:

James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd: 40 points for their contemporary dance to "Let It Go" from "Frozen"
Danica McKellar and Val Chmerkovskiy: 39 points for their quickstep to "Be Our Guest" from "Beauty and the Beast"
Charlie White and Sharna Burgess: 37 points for their jazzto "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" from "Mary Poppins"
AmyPurdy and Derek Hough: 37 points for their waltz to "So This Is Love" from "Cinderella"
Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy: 36 points for their samba to "I Wanna Be Like You" from "The Jungle Book"
NeNe Leakes and Tony Dovolani: 36 points for their foxtrot to "Cruella de Vil" from "101 Dalmatians"
Candace Cameron Bure and Mark Ballas: 35 points for their samba to "Under the Sea" from "The Little Mermaid"
Cody Simpson and Witney Carson: 34 points for their samba to "I Just Can't Wait to be King" from "The Lion King"
Drew Carey and Cheryl Burke: 28 points for their quickstep to "Friend Like Me" from "Aladdin"

The playoffs continued on last night’s edition of “The Voice.” It was all about Shakira and Adam Levine’s team. The way it worked was that each singer sang a song of his or her choice. Then the mentor picked three out of the five to go on to the next round.

Shakira kept Tess Boyer, Kristen Merlin, and Dani Moz. That meant saying good-bye to Deja Hall and Patrick Thompson.

Adam allowed Delvin Choice, Kat Perkins, and Christina Grimmie to go to the next round – which mean that Jake Barker and Morgan Wallen went home.

The playoffs continue tonight on “The Voice.”
