It’s Gonna Take You A While To Lose The Holiday Weight
Now that the holidays are over, a lot of us are facing the harsh reality of the "winter layer" we put on with all the eating and drinking that happened last month. And while a lot of us will be hitting the gym to try and keep our New Year’s resolutions to get healthy, it’s gonna take a lot longer than we think to get back in our pre-Christmas shape.
Researchers at Cornell University looked at 3,000 people worldwide who put on some pounds over the festive season, and there's some good news and bad news. The eggheads say that most folks will hang on to that extra holiday weight at least until July.
But they also discovered that most people do actually take off about half the pounds within the month of January, but the second half is another story. In actuality, the other half tends to stick around until the early summer months, if not later.
