Staying healthy can feel like a full-time job, but sometimes even when you think you’re doing all the right things, you could be sabotaging yourself without realizing it. It turns out, your environment may play an important role in helping you stay healthy and a new report reveals the places that are doing the best job for their residents.
- “U.S. News & World Report” has just come out with their sixth annual Healthiest Communities ranking.
- They compared 28-hundred communities on 92 health-related metrics in 10 categories, including Economy, Education, Population Health, Housing and Public Safety.
- For 2024, the healthiest community is Falls Church, Virginia. It’s number one for Education, fourth in Population Health and sixth for Economy.
- Falls Church beats out Los Alamos County, New Mexico, which held the title in the three previous rankings, and comes in second this year.
- The states with the highest average overall community-level scores are Rhode Island, Iowa and New Hampshire, while the states with the lowest average scores are Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas.
