The United States is already a melting pot and it’s becoming even more diverse. This includes not just races, but ethnicities, cultures, religions and more, but some parts of the country promote diversity more than others. And new research reveals which places have the most diversity.

  • WalletHub has just come out with their list of the Most and Least Diverse States in the U.S.
  • They ranked all 50 states on six key diversity categories - socioeconomic, cultural, economic, household, religious and political.
  • Based on all that, California is the most diverse state in 2024.
  • It’s number one for cultural diversity, third for socioeconomic diversity, and eighth for household diversity.
  • New York is tops for socioeconomic diversity, Alaska is first for economic diversity, Nevada is number one for household diversity, Louisiana is first for religious diversity and Oregon tops the list for political diversity.
  • At the bottom of the list is West Virginia, making it the least diverse state. It comes in dead last for both socioeconomic and cultural diversity and is in the bottom 10 for both religious and political diversity.
