*LIST* The Most (And Least) Politically Engaged States

With the election just weeks away, the push to get out and vote is strong. While we had a record number of people voting in the last presidential election, the turnout was still only 66.8%. But the best way to make your voice heard is to vote and a new report reveals where the most people are doing that.

  • WalletHub has just come out with their list of the Most and Least Politically Engaged States.
  • They compared the 50 states on 10 key indicators of political engagement, including voter registration stats and the percentage of people who voted in recent elections.
  • In 2024, Maryland is the most politically engaged state, thanks in part to it making it really easy to register to vote and having 78% of residents registered to vote.
  • Maryland has 74% of residents vote in the 2020 presidential election, the fifth-highest turnout rate of all states.
  • At the other end of the list is Arkansas, making it the least politically engaged state. It had the lowest percentage of registered voters in the 2020 presidential election.
