Former SmileDirectClub Customers may be Eligible for a Refund

Not only did SmileDirectClub leave customers without teeth-straightening products when it abruptly closed a year ago, New York Attorney General Letitia James says the company illegally charged customers after shuttering.

Now, more than $4.8 million has been recovered for more than 28,000 SmileDirectClub members.

The company filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last Decembers and shocked customers when it told customers they would still need to make their monthly payments, even though their "lifetime smile guarantees" were canceled.
