Enchanted Holiday Stroll & Tree Lighting

2nd Annual Rio Rancho Christmas Tree Lighting and Shop and Stroll Supports Local Businesses and Kicks Off Holiday Season

Excitement is building in Rio Rancho as the Plaza at Enchanted Hills Shopping Center gears up for its second annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Shop and Stroll event. The event will take place from 6pm- 8pm on Friday, November 22nd in the parking lot of the Plaza at Enchanted Hills off of Enchanted Hills Boulevard and the 528 in Rio Rancho. Rio Rancho Deputy Mayor Bob Tyler will light the tree at 7pm.

Adults and kids of all ages will enjoy food from local food trucks and live music by the band Soul Official, and the S’more Pit will be handing out free s’mores to the first 100 patrons. The shops in the Plaza will be open for a Holiday Shop-and-Stroll, local craft vendors will be on hand with unique New Mexico treasures, and the return of Santa and Mrs. Claus will make the evening extra magical!

Hosted by the owners of the Plaza at Enchanted Hills and the Rio Rancho Chamber of Commerce, the Plaza at Enchanted Hills Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Shop and Stroll is meant to support local business and unite the community at this special time of year.

“Rio Rancho is a wonderful city,” says Amy Goldfarb of TDA Investment Group, which took ownership of the Plaza last year. “We are excited to bring people together to celebrate this joyous season, and help support the great businesses at the Center.”

Another exciting part of the festivities will be seeing the progress at the Plaza. Last year during the Christmas Tree Lighting, the ownership announced plans for significant improvements to the entryway as well as new construction in one of the vacant pads near the front of the shopping center. Renderings displayed a new 12,000 square foot building, improved entryway and a pedestrian plaza that would include a dog park near the PetSmart building. This year, construction is underway with expected completion in early spring 2020. The remaining vacant pads near the entryway are the focus of future development, and the ownership and their brokers are already exploring possible tenants for those spaces.

“Last year, we showed a rendering and some plans and the response was really positive,” says Goldfarb. “This year, the construction is in progress, which is really exciting. We are working to attract local and regional retailers to the new building, and are targeting food use tenants to round out the shopping experience at Plaza at Enchanted Hills. We hope that we can continue to improve the Center and are excited for this second annual Tree Lighting and Holiday Shop and Stroll event!”

Donations will also be accepted for Haven House, the only domestic violence shelter in Sandoval County.
