Ariana Grande is an Instagram heavyweight and the pop superstar has the numbers to prove it.
Hours before her debut performance of "Rain on Me," alongside Lady Gaga, at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (August 30), the pop titan, 27, became the most followed female on the social media platform with over 200 million followers. She's also the first woman to obtain the milestone. She's followed by Kylie Jenner and Selena Gomez with 193 and 190 million followers, respectively. Christiano Ronaldo still holds the title as the most-followers user with 237 million followers.
Prior to the performance, Mother Monster took to her own account to congratulate Grande on the achievement, writing, "You're a queen! Wear that crown!" During the Keke Palmer-hosted affair, Grande nabbed honors including Song of the Year ("Rain on Me"), Best Collaboration ("Rain on Me"), Best Cinematography ("Rain on Me") and Best Music Video from Home ("Stuck with U" with Justin Bieber).
