A stuffed horse that appears to be crying has become China’s hottest toy. The thing is, the plush red pony was actually a production mistake. The toy was supposed to be a smiling celebration for the Year of the Horse. But the smile was sewn upside-down making the little horse look very sad — and the nostrils look like falling tears. Apparently, people in China can’t get enough of it. Fans say its sad little face perfectly captures the vibe of overworked young professionals, and the relatability factor has sent sales skyrocketing from a few hundred a day to tens of thousands. One shopper even said the horse looks “just like the way I feel at work.”
