King Princess is set to star in the upcoming stage production of Girl, Interrupted, a musical adaptation of the 1999 film that earned Angelina Jolie the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
This will mark the theatrical debut of the singer-songwriter, 27, who joined the cast of the show this week, per Billboard.
Previews for the show, which will feature original music by two-time Grammy winner Aimee Mann, will begin May 13 at New York's Public Theater, with the show officially running from June 4 through June 21.
The 1999 film is based on author Susanna Kaysen's 1993 memoir of the same name, which involves the author's 18-month stint in a psychiatric hospital. The singer, born Mikaela Straus, will star as Lisa, a fellow patient at the psychiatric hospital.
King Princess, however, is no stranger to acting. Straus starred in the second season of Hulu's hit series Nine Perfect Strangers and also played the daughter of Hugh Jackman's character in last year's Song Sung Blue, the critically acclaimed film about a Neil Diamond tribute band.
The "1950" singer is also set to appear in the upcoming rom-com One Night Only, which will also star Julia Fox and Maya Hawke.
