Premium Subscriptions People Think Are Still Worth The Cost

A lot of us are trying to spend less these days, and subscriptions are often the easiest place to start making cuts. But even when you’re tightening your budget, there are probably one or two you don’t feel like you can cancel because they make your life easier, save you time, or feel worth the price every month.

A Reddit thread has people sharing theirs by asking, “Which premium subscription is actually worth the money in 2026?” More than 4-thousand replies have come in and these are some of the most repeated.

  • "Costco Executive. The Executive cash back at 2% just covers my membership fee outright, or more."
  • "Board Game Arena. If you’re into the hobby, it’s best to get a physical game going, but when you can’t BGA has thousands of the best strategy and other games at a great price."
  • "AMC A-list. Worth it if you’re close to one. Four movies in any format per week, for $24.99 every month."
  • "Kanopy and Hoopla. Totally worth the absolutely nothing they charge as long as you have a library card."
  • "PBS. Seriously, support PBS! I think I pay less than $20 per year. Nothing but docs and educational shows. Love it."
  • "Spotify Premium is the only one that actually saves me money since I stream like every day anyway, everything else feels like a scam."
  • "Dropout TV if you like improv comedy."
  • "I understand this is not at all popular given the recent price increase, but YouTube Premium gets the most use from me, and it's not even close. Would be the last thing I give up."
  • "If you like comics, Marvel Unlimited and DC Universe Infinite are incredible values."
  • "Audible. I never thought I’d get through an entire book again."
  • "CVS. It's a $5 fee, but they send you $10 in store cash every month. Discount on their brand meds/supplements."
  • "Walmart+ has been the best bang for our buck. We save so much money on delivery and shipping, and as someone living in rural areas, they are hands down the fastest way to get anything."
  • "Lowkey, the NYT Games subscription has given me no reason to ever drop it. Like, you're telling me I get access to every NYT crossword ever back to 1993, plus a bunch of other really fun games and puzzles? It's like $25 a year, that's so worth it"
  • “None. I pirate everything. I would download a car”
