For a few hours yesterday, Taylor Swift Nation debated how she’d successfully been hiding from photographers.
A paparazzi service called Splash News incorrectly captioned a photo. They made it sound as if Taylor stuffed herself inside luggage, then had her security team carry the over-sized suitcase out of her New York City penthouse.
The exact wording of the caption reads, (quote) “Taylor Swift being transported in a huge suitcase from her Tribeca apartment into her truck. Almost a dozen of Taylor Swift security guards were present to move this package carefully. Taylor Swift remains to be unseen for a long time.”
They’ve since retracted the statement. Taylor’s team called Splash News to demanded a rewrite. They wouldn’t allow Taylor’s public image be tarnished by a goofy rumors about her hiding in trunks. (BuzzFeed)
DANIEL RADCLIFFE: Aids Mugging Victim in London
Daniel Radcliffe acted like a real-life Harry Potter last week and came to the rescue of a man who got mugged in London.
According to Britain's Evening Standard, the actor was "among a group of people who rushed to the aid of a man" whose face was slashed by thieves on a mo-ped who then stole his Louis Vuitton bag.
Former police officer David Videcette says he saw Daniel “comforting the tourist,” and that "it was a bit of the surreal moment, I said ‘you’re Daniel Radcliffe’ and he replied, 'I am.'” Videcette added, “He was a really nice bloke, a lot of stars wouldn’t have stopped to help.”
MINDY KALING: Pregnant With First Child
Congratulations to Mindy Kaling. The A Wrinkle in Time star is pregnant with her first child, according to reports.
A source tells E! News the baby was "an unexpected surprise" for the 38-year-old actress, but that there will not be any changes made to production schedules for her upcoming projects.
No word who the father is. Mindy dated Benjamin Nugent from 2008 to 2012 and her Office co-star B.J. Novak from 2005 to 2007.
RYAN PHILLIPPE: Breaks Leg in "Freak Accident"
Ryan Phillippe broke his leg, but it didn't happen on the set of his action series, Shooter.
The actor took to Twitter to explain how he landed in the hospital. He writes, "Hey, guys, I didn't injure myself doing a stunt or anywhere near the set of Shooter. I was the victim of a freak accident during a family outing on Sunday."
He says his leg is "badly broken and required surgical attention," but he expects to make a "full recovery." (Us Magazine)
MARIAH CAREY: STARZ Gets TV Drama Based on Singer's Life
Mariah Carey will tell her life’s story in a new TV drama.
The cable network Starz will air the series. It’s about a “16-year-old biracial girl in 1986 New York City. She endures childhood hardship and ultimately soars to meteoric fame in the music industry." Mariah will have creative input as an executive producer.
Previously, there was talk that Mariah wanted to play herself. Thankfully, somebody got honest with Mariah and convinced her not to try to play her teenage self. Instead, a young actress will get the opportunity of a lifetime in the lead role. (Deadline Hollywood)
