Grocery Store Policies That Save You Money

Sometimes grocery shopping is the last thing we want to do, but saving money while we do it makes it a little better. Some of our favorite supermarkets actually have store policies that can help us save big, we just need to take advantage of them. Here’s what you need to know before you fill your shopping cart.

  • Trader Joe’s: The return policy - One of the best things about TJ’s is that you can bring anything back for a full refund. Trader Joe’s encourages shoppers to try their new products, so if you don’t like something, just return it - no questions asked.
  • Whole Foods: The Try Before You Buy policy - Want to know how those organic apples taste before you drop $9 on them? Ask an employee to taste one. They’ll happily open a package or cut open produce or slice cheese so you can taste what you’re buying and know you’ll like it.
  • Costco: The coupons - Costco has online coupons, so check them out before you leave home to save more on snacks, frozen foods, and everything else.
