If you’re an early bird who wakes up feeling frisky, research shows you should go with it. According to a new study from Forza Supplements in the U.K., the best time of day to have sex is at 7:30, or about 45 minutes after you wake up.
To come up with this number, researchers surveyed 1,000 people about the best times of day to do different daily activities. They point out that energy levels are highest when we first get up and that getting busy stimulates the release of endorphins, so you’ll get a feel good effect for the rest of the day after a little morning loving.
Some sexperts agree that that starting the day with a little bedroom action is ideal. “Having sex in the morning releases the feel-good chemical oxytocin,” explains author and sex educator Debby Herbenick, “which makes couples feel loving and bonded all day long.”
So if you can get past the dreaded morning breath and bedhead, do the deed first thing in the morning. You’ll have a pep in your step and feel connected to your partner and that’s a pretty good way to start the day.
