DAVE MATTHEWS BAND: New Album in Early 2018?

Dave Matthews Band released its last album, Away from the World, on September 11th, 2012 -- and as of today (Monday) DMB has gone five years between studio albums for the first time in its career.

But the wait for the next one won't be all that much longer, according to Dave. He tells the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that the band expects to spend this fall in the studio in hopes of releasing its ninth studio album in early 2018.

Matthews says he and DMB drummer Carter Beauford had already begun recording together before the events in the band's hometown brought them back together for September 24th's star-studded A Concert for Charlottesville. He thinks they already "have some great music" and some of the songs he worked on with Beauford will be "added to the pile," giving them "a lot to choose from." He just hopes he chooses wisely.
