ANDREW DICE CLAY: Suffers Health Scare
Andrew Dice Clay is recovering from a health scare.
The 60-year-old comedian went to the hospital last week after he thought he pinched a nerve at the gym. But tests revealed that he actually had a partially blocked artery and needed to have stent inserted. His rep says, "He’s now stable and resting comfortably with his family at his Vegas retreat. It’s a necessary break from his grueling touring and shooting schedule."
The comic currently stars in his own Showtime comedy series Dice and is also appearing in A Star Is Born, alongside Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. (People)
Simon Cowell “Feared He Had Broken His Neck”
Simon Cowell is beginning to talk about his terrifying tumble down a flight of stairs. Simon said (quote) “I was lying on my back thinking, ‘I hope I haven’t broken my neck.’”
The sound of smashing your skull seems to echo for an eternity.
The paramedics strapped Simon down onto a backboard and immobilized his head, just in case he suffered a spinal injury.
He missed two tapings of The X-Factor in England. He admitted (quote) “Sometimes we get a reminder that we’re not invincible and this was certainly mine. It was a huge shock.” (The Sun UK)
ED WESTWICK: Gossip Girl Star Addresses Rape Charge
Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick denies raping an actress three years ago.
Kristina Cohen, who's appeared in such TV series as Ladies Like Us and Californication, claimed in a recent Facebook post that the actor assaulted her in his home. She wrote, “I told him to stop, but he was strong. I fought him off as hard as I could but he grabbed my face in his hands, shaking me, telling me he wanted to [have sex with] me. I was paralyzed, terrified. I couldn’t speak, I could no longer move. He held me down and raped me. It was a nightmare, and the days following weren’t any better.”
Today (Tuesday), Westwick denied the allegations in a statement on Instagram, saying he does not know the woman and that he has "never forced" himself "in any manner, on any woman."
Cohen has reportedly filed a report with the LAPD, who is investigating. (Vulture)
MARIAH CAREY: Accused of Harassment by Security Company
The owner of a security company who worked for Mariah Carey for two years is threatening to sue the singer, claiming she owes him a lot of money and also harassed him and his staff.
Michael Anello's company worked for Mariah from June 2015 to May 2017 and says it is still owed more than $200,000. He also claims that in the two years he worked for her, Mariah continuously humiliated him and his colleagues by calling them Nazis and a white supremacists. Anello also claims there was at least one instance of sexual harassment. He says Mariah made him come to her hotel room and move some luggage while she was wearing a see-thru negligee. He says he tried to leave but she wouldn't let him.
Anello's lawyer says the lawsuit right now is on hold as both sides try to reach a settlement on the money owed. (TMZ)
KANYE WEST: Rival Streaming Service to Tidal?
Kanye West is preparing to compete against Jay-Z in the music streaming business.
He submitted legal papers to launch an online service called Yeezy Sound. The trademark hints on the business model beyond streaming. It includes “images, video and other multimedia content.” (The Blast)
Jay-Z and Kanye have had a falling out over money. Yeezy claims he’s owed more than 3 million dollars for offering Tidal an exclusive on his 2016 album, The Life Of Pablo. Last year’s meltdown happened as Kanye toured and from the stage begged for his best friend to return his texts. (quote) “You still ain't calling me. Jay-Z, I know you got killers. Please don't send them at my head. Just call me. Talk to me like a man!”
A few days later, doctors institutionalized Kanye for “temporary psychosis.” The anniversary is 10 days away.
TAYLOR SWIFT: Not Streaming Reputation Until 2018
Taylor Swift drops her Reputation on Friday. The only way to hear it is to buy the CD.
Executives at the major streaming services say Reputationprobably won’t be available anytime soon. There are whispers Reputation might not stream until after the New Year.
An insider told Us Weekly, (quote) “Taylor’s camp obviously wants the highest sales possible. The one-week exclusion from streaming is for sure happening. There are talks it’ll be held until after the holiday season.”
Yesterday, Taylor confirmed the listing of 15 tracks on Reputation a few hours after it leaked.

DR PHIL: Highest-Paid TV Host
Forbes magazine tabulated the highest-paid TV hosts.
Atop the list is Dr. Phil McGraw, who took home 79 million dollars last year thanks to a hefty salary and a percentage of his show’s profits.
Ellen DeGeneres had an income last year of 77 million. She’s also negotiated a slice of her show’s profits, plus her endorsement deal with CoverGirl.
Third place goes to Ryan Seacrest, who earned 58 million dollars, according to Forbes magazine from co-hosting with Kelly Ripa, producing Keeping Up With the Kardashians and a half-million other jobs.
Judge Judy Sheindlin makes 47 million from her court TV show. Simon Cowell took home 45 million dollars. Steve Harvey got a combined 42 million dollars for his talk show and hosting Family Feud. Former NFL all-pro Michael Strahan raked in 21 million with his Good Morning America gig and on the weekends talking football on FOX. Strahan is tied with Heidi Klum of Project Runway and America’s Got Talent.
