TAYLOR SWIFT: Sexual Assault Awareness Month Donation
Taylor Swift followed through on her promise to make “donations to organizations that help sexual assault victims defend themselves.”
Those were her words, last year, after winning the jury trial against a radio host who groped Taylor during a meet-and-greet photo session.
April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM). On Thursday, the organization known as RAINN (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network) tweeted their appreciation. (quote) “Thank you @TaylorSwift13 for always standing with survivors. Your generous donation this week during #SAAPM ensures that survivors and their loved ones get the help they need and deserve.” (Billboard)
LORDE: Marries Whitney Quote With Bathtub Photo
Thursday evening, Lorde admitted to a gruesome mistake, which had fans threatening to boycott her music and concerts.
Without thinking about the implications, Lorde Instagrammed a photo of a bathtub and captioned it “And I will always love you.” Those are classic lyrics sung by Whitney Houston, who drowned six years ago in a Beverly Hills hotel bath.
Fans lit up her comments sections. Some hoped she’d been hacked. Others believed it was a poor attempt at a joke. Many thought it was disgusting how she disrespected the memory of one of our greatest singers.
She returned last night to Instagram to delete the original post and apologize. (quote) “I hadn’t even put this together. I was just excited to take a bath. I’m an idiot. Love Whitney forever and ever. Sorry again.” (People)

STRANGER THINGS: Producers Deny Stealing Filmmaker's Idea
A filmmaker who is suing the producers of Stranger Things for ripping off his idea has been handed a major blow to his case.
Matt and Ross Duffer have provided some emails from back in 2010 which show that they were working on a "real," "paranormal" "gritty eighties" show that was originally called Montauk, named for the Long Island town it would be set in. These emails were exchanged more than three years before filmmaker Charlie Kessler claims he had a meeting with The Duffer Brothers to pitch his similar show, also titled Montauk.
Kessler claims he never heard back from the brothers after their meeting and was shocked when Stranger Things came out in 2016. But a lawyer for The Duffer Brothers says, "These documents prove that Mr. Kessler had absolutely nothing to do with the creation of 'Stranger Things.' The Duffer Brothers were developing their project years before he claims to have met them." (TMZ)
