ARIANA GRANDE: Splits From Mac Miller
Ariana Grande and Mac Miller quietly quit dating a few months ago.
Their last public appearance happened in March around Oscarweekend. Together they attended Madonna’s after-party. Mac Miller tweeted three weeks ago his support of Ariana’s new single “No Tears Left To Cry,” (quote) “Very proud of this girl. Welcome back. We missed you. One of a kind.”
Sources blamed their “busy work schedules” for the failed romance, which is rather generous to Mac. It’s Ariana who is the busy one. She has a new song and album, Sweetener, to promote. Last week, she spent the entire show with Jimmy Fallon. (TMZ)
SELENA GOMEZ: Either Bieber or Happiness
Selena Gomez finally followed her mother’s advice and dumped Justin Bieber, for good.
They’ve been “on a break” since February. She traveled with Justin to his father’s Valentine’s Day wedding, but two weeks later, didn’t celebrate Justin’s birthday. The paparazzi caught Justin that day crying in his car.
Starting with her mom, Selena's entire squad, to a person, convinced her that Justin was toxic and they couldn’t support the relationship. A source told Us Weekly how Selena felt like she had two doors in front of her, (quote) “Her general happiness or being with Justin.”
Now it becomes clearer the motive behind Justin’s Instagram message the other day. After clicking through photos of Selena at the Met Gala, he informed his 99 million followers, (quote) “That glamorous lifestyle you see portrayed by famous people, don't be fooled thinking their life is better than yours, I can promise you it's not!”
WOODY ALLEN: Left on Cutting Room Floor
An interview with Woody Allen was cut from a documentary at the last minute over fears that sexual assault allegations against the legendary director could damage the movie.
Filmmaker Matthew Miele interviewed Allen for his movie Always at the Carlyle, which is a documentary about Manhattan’s historic Carlyle Hotel. Allen frequently performs with other jazz musicians at the hotel and agreed to be interviewed for the film. But after sexual assault allegations were made against him by his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow, the filmed piece was cut out.
Miele says the interview was a highlight of the film because Allen is so elusive and doesn't grant many interviews, but investors feared that including it in the final edit of the movie could be damaging so they asked him to omit it. The film opens Friday at a theater in New York. (Page Six)

NBCUniversal has concluded its investigation of Matt Lauer and found themselves innocent of any wrongdoing. But the media company did find the former Today show host's accusers to be "credible."
In the report, four women who filed complaints against Lauer late last year “confirmed that they did not tell their direct manager or anyone else in a position of authority about their sexual encounters with Lauer.” Still, investigators concluded that there is not a "widespread or systemic pattern" of inappropriate behavior at NBC News.
The report included a number of changes to help improve NBC's work culture and to make people more comfortable reporting bad behavior.
For his part, Lauer was found to have "frequently engaged in sexual banter or joking in open working environments."
Lauer was fired by NBC News last November after a colleague complained to executives about the host's inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace.
