Pediatricians Group Wants to Ban Infant Walkers

  • According to a new report published in Pediatrics, more than 230,000 children under the age of 15 months wound up in the emergency room after being injured by infant walkers between the years of 1990 and 2014. Researchers concluded that these popular devices are a "preventable source of injury," prompting the American Academy of Pediatrics to call for them to be banned. That being said, USA Todayreports that injuries involving infant walkers have fallen significantly since the Consumer Product Safety Commission established relevant safety standards in 2010.
