Let's face it -- not all memories are good ones. Is there a memory you'd like to forget?
Researchers have discovered that it is possible to forget a memory -- and the process is actually pretty simple.
If you are trying to forget something that’s upsetting or unproductive, just work your way back into your memory and actively focus on a different memory that’s related to the one you’re trying to forget. By activating this new, competing memory, your brain deactivates the old one and makes it difficult to go back and recover it again. (Forbes)
