APD Reports Over 220 Crashes During Storm

Since midnight on New Year's Eve there were hundreds of car crashes in Albuquerque, dozens with injuries.

A spokesperson with the Albuquerque Police Department said there were 223 crashes, at least 66 of those had injuries. Another 124 vehicles experienced traffic problems such as getting stuck or breaking down on the road, and at least three traffic signals were knocked down in the metro area.

For cars stuck on interstates and highways, New Mexico State Police said owners have 10 days to remove their vehicles from the roadways.

New Mexico State Police said they are working on gathering final numbers on the amount of accidents there were around the state.
