It turns out if a coupon has the words "No Expiration Date" printed on it, the store has to accept it, no matter how old it may be.
Testing that theory, a customer at a Long Island, New York supermarket presented a 36-year-old coupon for Crisco oil and the store took it.
Printed in 1983, the coupon netted the anonymous shopper 20 cents off the bottle.
North Shore Farms manager Anatoly Shashkin shared the discount clipping on social media, much to the delight of his Twitter followers. Tuesday's post has more than 12,500 likes and 2,300 retweets.
