While a woman can’t have a baby without a little help from a man, one dad-to-be tried to take a little extra credit for his baby on the way, and the Internet just wasn’t having it.
A dad-to-be shared in Reddit’s “ 'Am I the A**hole” forum that he is upset that his pregnant wife is taking all the credit for creating their daughter. He says it all started when during an ultrasound appointment she started crying, saying, “I can't believe I'm making a human being.” He says that after the tech left the room he “gently reminded” her that they were both responsible for making the baby, not just her, noting, “I also told her that saying she's "making" the baby on her own is not accurate, since I provided half the genetic material,” adding that he’s also been to two doctors appointments a month with her.
He seems to think it’s unfair his wife isn’t giving him enough credit for making the baby, and when asked whether he is indeed the “A**hole,” Reddit pretty much said yes.
- “Lose your I attitude. She's the one going through all that,” one person noted. “You're just being a good husband as you should be,” while another pointed out, “He mansplained pregnancy to her,” and one gal added, “I’m currently 8.5 months pregnant and I hate you so much right now.”
- And it seems the dad-to-be actually listened to the feedback, later sharing, “'I'm an idiot. I don't know what I was thinking. I'm gonna apologize and make it up to her however I can.”
