The holidays can be stressful, which means it’s even more important to find a way to relieve that extra anxiety and tension. If finding time to work out, take a yoga class, or even meditate is impossible, consider baking up an extra batch of holiday cookies instead.

According to Donna Pincus, associate professor of psychological and brain sciences at Boston University, the focus and being in the present that is required for baking has similar stress relieving psychological benefits to meditation.
