TIME magazine has chosen teen climate change activist Greta Thunberg as the2019 Person of the Year.
The magazine's editor-in-chief Edward Felsenthal made the announcement this morning on the show and revealed the magazine's cover which features the 16-year-old Swedish girl. She's also the youngest recipient of the honor.
Thunberg has become the leader of the younger generation's fight against climate change and has sparked student-led strikes across the world. She was chosen as Person of the Year over a shortlist of finalists which included President Donald Trump, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the anonymous CIA whistleblower, and the Hong Kong protesters.
