If you’re struggling a bit to get started, maybe this will help.U.S. News and World Reporthas released their annual list of the best and worst diets for the year, and for the third year in a row, the Mediterranean Diet reigns supreme among health experts.
The Mediterranean Diet consists of healthy fats, fish over meat, and lots of vegetables and beans. Tying for second were the DASH Diet, which was designed to stop or prevent high blood pressure, and the Flexitarian diet. If you’ve never heard of it, it’s basically a vegetarian diet, but encourages meat consumption when you feel like you need it. If you need a bit more structure, WW -- aka Weight Watchers -- came in 4th. The Mayo Clinic Diet, which emphasized fruits, veggies and whole grains, was fifth on the list of best diets.
Unfortunately, the super popular Keto diet and similar Dukan diet were ranked as the worst diets to follow. These diets focus on high protein, high fat and low-carb foods.
