Planters is pausing part of its Super Bowl ad campaign that shows the death and funeral of its mascot, Mister Peanut, following the tragic loss of NBA star Kobe Bryant.
In a statement, the company said it was saddened by the news of the death of Bryant and eight others. They noted that due to the tragedy, they are evaluating the next steps through the lens of the sensitivity of those impacted by the crash.
Planters released one of the ads showing the death of Mister Peanut on social media prior to Sunday's helicopter crash. It was scheduled to air the funeral for Mister Peanut during the Super Bowl. That will go on as planned.
