We Prefer "Galentines" Over Valentines

A recent survey by retail companyZulily, found that 59% of respondents said they are skipping the romantic date night and choosing to spend February 14th with friends instead. Move over Valentine’s Day, Galentine’s Day is here to stay! Originally coined byAmy Poehler's characterLeslie Knope on an episode ofParks and Recreationback in 2010, Google searches for the term have gone up a whopping 300% over the last six years. Seems Valentine’s Day is morphing into a day to celebrate all the people who we love and appreciate -- not just our romantic partners. (BHG)
