We're all looking for the fountain of youth, right? It may well be as simple as eating less.
A new study suggests that lowering your calorie count can slow the aging process on a cellular level. In a study of rats by theSalk Institute, researchers found that those whose diets were restricted by 30% had far more cells that resembled those of younger rats.
Some of the cells affected were related to immunity, inflammation and lipid metabolism -- in other words, they were better at fighting off disease and the effects of old age.
So it really may be that simple: If you want to live longer, eat less.
