First, the outlet says, prepare like you would for a blizzard or a hurricane, not a full-fledged apocalypse. The most important item you need is simple, according to one expert: soap and water. Other good items are cleaning wipes and disinfectant sprays, but there's no need to stock up on hand sanitizer. Another tip is to buy a little more of the items you'd normally use.
