CDC Tells People Aged 60 & Older to Stock Up & Avoid Outings

In a media briefing Monday, the CDC recommended that people aged 60 and older should stock up on medicine and food and avoid public outings as the coronavirus spreads. Dr. Nancy Messonnier, the director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said, "Our goal is to protect you. This will require you and your family to take action." Messonnier also suggested that people look out for their older family members and neighbors, recommending they make contingency plans, too. She suggested getting familiar with prescriptions older people need and helping them acquire essential supplies and food.  Read more here
