Are you exhausted but feel like you have to keep going in order to be successful in life? This is how Celeste Headlee, author of “Do Nothing” felt before she realized that her version of “doing nothing” was actually making her sick.
As Headlee researched why she was sick she discovered that although she would come home from work exhausted, she continued to make her brain put in work while scrolling social media.
The brain can’t distinguish between work and time on social media, so it views it all as a focused task, says Headlee.
Headlee says workers need to “reclaim their time” by taking walks and watching television without distractions and allowing your brain to “do nothing.”
