Both the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have said that regular citizens don't need to wear masks in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, unless they're sick and coughing and sneezing. There's also concern that health care workers across the globe are dealing with shortages of N-95 masks and other protective gears.

And on Tuesday, a federal official that the CDC is reviewing mask wearing for the public after receiving a request from the White House coronavirus task force, which is considering recommending it."
