Teacher Brings Whiteboard to Student's Porch, Helps Her With Math

A math teacher in South Dakota is being hailed as a hero after he solved the problem of long-distance learning amid the coronavirus shutdown. "My sixth grader emailed her math teacher for some help, so he came over and worked through the problem with her on our front porch," dad Josh Anderson tweeted this past Friday. He also posted a picture that shows teacher Chris Waba--who happens to live across the street from the Andersons--kneeling on their front porch and writing on a whiteboard while 12-year-old daughter Rylee watched through their front door. "He made it easier to understand," Rylee later told CNN. "I appreciated him coming over." She added, "My mom got all the questions wrong when she helped me before."
