Booze Raises Risk of Catching COVID-19

Alcohol sales have skyrocketed while Americans have been sheltering in place at home, but too much booze consumption could put us at a higher risk of contracting COVID-19.

The World Health Organization warns that drinking too much can weaken the immune system, thus making consumers more susceptible to respiratory illnesses like pneumonia or coronavirus. The WHO published a new report this week which states, "People should minimize their alcohol consumption at any time, and particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.” (USA Today)
