STUDY: Yard Work Burns More Calories in a Year Than Going to the Gym

Because of COVID-19 fewer people are going to the gym. While that might be good for your pocketbook, skipping out on exercise isn’t exactly good for your health.

If you aren’t motivated enough to structure your own workouts at home, consider this: A new study, conducted by OnePoll, found that homeowners can burn more than 80,000 calories per year by simply taking on all the yard work and gardening themselves. That’s more than most people burn in a year going to the gym. And there’s an added bonus: Experts say all that outdoor activity is really good for your mental health as well. (The Ladders)
