CDC Reports 1 In 4 Young Adults Considered Suicide Amid Pandemic


The CDC surveyed over 5,000 people the last week of June about mental health and the pandemic.25% of participants between the ages of 18-24 admitted they considered suicide as a result of the pandemic.10% of people in the entire survey said they considered suicide.Black and Latinx participants were above average in groups of people feeling mental health effects of the pandemic.13% of participants said they turned to substance abuse as a way to cope with the stress of the pandemic.
