Victims of Golden State Killer Confront Him in Court

Victims of Joseph DeAngelo, a serial murderer and rapist know as The Golden State Killer, faced him in court Tuesday in Sacramento,USA Todayreports. "You will forever be known as a repulsive coward who hid behind a mask of evil. The devil can keep you company in your prison cell as he gnaws away at whatever soul you have left, at whatever life you have left," said Kris Pedretti, who was bound, gagged and raped at 15. Pedretti was one of several survivors of the man, who was also known as East Area Rapist, Visalia Ransacker and Original Nightstalker is thought to be one of California's most prolific serial killers. He committed his crimes in the 70's and '80s, and the 74-year-old former cop was finally arrested in 2018 through DNA evidence. He is expected to be sentenced to life without parole on Friday, after pleading guilty to 13 counts of murder and 13 counts of kidnapping with robbery. In the agreement he also had to admit to multiple uncharged crimes. He is believed to have committed at least 50 rapes, and murdered 13 people, as well as many other crimes. Tuesday was the first of 4 sentencing days, where victims and friends are expected to speak out. "Remember, you’ve waited a long time for this. No need to hurry. Take your time," said Sacramento County Superior Court Judge Michael Bowman on Tuesday. Read more here
