Chadwick Boseman Has Passed At 43


Long live the King. Shocking news over the weekend as the family ofChadwick Bosemanhas confirmed his death, which apparently followed years of fighting cancer. He was 43.

“He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side,” astatement posted to his Twitter offered. “The family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time.”

As shocking as his passing? The fact that apparently, Boseman had been fighting Stage Three colon cancer since 2016. Indeed, as he brought King T’Challa and many other characters to life on screen, Boseman was waging a very private war behind the scenes. The illness progressed to Stage Four, and that is what ultimately took him.

Not many did, as Boseman was notoriously private. What we do know is the couple have been together since 2015and that they were engaged late last year.
  • In what is also a fitting tribute to the incredible body of work created in such a short life, the final post to Boseman’s Twitter accountis now the most-liked post in the platform’s history. “Fans are coming together on Twitter to celebrate the life of Chadwick Boseman, ” the company said in a statement. “And the tweet sent from his account...is now the most liked tweet of all time on Twitter.” At last check, the tweet was liked more than 7-million times, and re-tweeted more than three-million times.Hail to the King, indeed.
