In Salinas, California, two schoolgirls were sitting in the parking lot of a Taco Bell, using the restaurant’s WiFi to do their schoolwork because they didn’t have WiFi at home.
Somebody took a picture of these hardworking students -- and posted the picture on social media. The picture went viral … and resulted in more than $100,000 being raised with a GoFundMe campaign to help the girls out.
The money will definitely help the girls as they take their classes virtually.
And, the campaign will hopefully inspire others to help those who don’t have easy access to the tools needed to get through these complicated back-to-school days. (NBC News)
