Blogger Amy Latta came up with the idea for a Thankful Pumpkin seven years ago, as a way to teach her son about Thanksgiving. But she didn’t post about it until 2012,. Well now, with all the extra time people have on their hands -- and the need for the thankful reminders in these crazy times -- it’s become a hot fall trend.
It’s a simple concept. Instead of carving a pumpkin or simply piling them in a basket for decoration, have your family take a marker and write everything they are grateful for on the pumpkin.
It’s the perfect reminder of the beauty in life -- even when things seem bleak -- and it will last all season long. Bonus ... it makes a great Thanksgiving centerpiece! (Today)
