"Anti-Facebook": Wikipedia Founder Launches Ad-Free Social Media Platform

If you're over Facebook or Twitter but still want to feel connected, Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales wants you to check out the social media platform he's just launched called WT.Social. This platform has a newsfeed similar to Facebook, but unlike Facebook, which posts highly engaging or paid ads first, WT.Social always shows new content first. Wales has promised that the platform will not run advertising. In fact, he created WT.Social because he felt that advertising was flooding Facebook and Twitter with "low quality content." Wales also says the company will never sell users' data. Around 160,000 have signed up for WT.Social so far. It's free to join, but there's currently a wait list for new users. Find out more here https://bigthink.com/technology-innovation/wt-social
