Court To Reexamine Scott Peterson’s Murder Convictions

Scott Peterson has won a round in his ongoing appeals. The California Supreme Court ruled that a lower court must reexamine the case after it was discovered a juror did not disclose involvement in other legal proceedings.

Peterson was convicted of murdering his wife Laci and their unborn son 18 years ago and was sentenced to death, but that sentence was reversed in August.

The latest ruling is in regards to juror number seven,Richelle Nice. Lawyers for Patterson argued she provided false testimony on her vior dire questionnaire when she didn’t reveal that while she was four months pregnant she filed a lawsuit against a woman claiming she was in fear “for her unborn child.” They say the omission raised a presumption of prejudice. When asked about it Nice told CNN, “I'm not making any comments." Source:CNN
