This election could be the highest turnout in more than a century. Officials believe more than 100-million ballots were submitted before election day and some experts expected 160-million people to vote. Why’s that a big deal? It would mean we have about 67% of the eligible voter population.
The last time it was that high was in 1906 when 65% voted. So far, six states have reported more people voting this year than did four years ago, and that wasbeforeElection Day.
Meanwhile, federal authoritiesare investigating a series of robocalls that have reached Americans across the country, urging them tostay homeon Election Day. On one phone call, a robotic female voice said, "Time to stay home. Stay safe and stay home." A senior official at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency says the FBI is investigating but warned robocalls happen every election. New York Attorney GeneralLetitia Jamesalso announced her office was investigating calls.
