WW Makes Some Changes To Focus On Wellness In 2021


WW, the company better known as Weight Watchers, is making some changes for 2021, aiming to get their members focusing on more than just the food their eating. 

This week the company is rolling out what they’re calling myWW+, described as their “most holistic program ever.” It will encourage members to focus on wellness as well as the food they’re eating, with the company upgrading their app in areas of activity, mindset and sleep. Their aim is to offer a personal approach that will help with things like stress eating and lack of sleep, which have been big problems, especially during the current pandemic.

One thing members may be happy to hear is that the food plan, consisting of three different options, isn’t changing at all. But, WW will be offering more tools in the app to help folks on their journey, including a meal planner, and something called “What’s In Your Fridge,” which offers recipes based on ingredients they have at home.

  • There will also be a “Weekly Check-in” on the app that gives members a “holistic view” of progress, and offers them suggestions on “accountable” goals they can reach each week.
  • They’ve redesigned the activity tracker, making it easier to understand things like weekly goals, and progress over time. They will also continue to offer in-app workouts from FitOn and Aaptiv.
  • There will be areas to track sleep, and also a section focused on “science-backed mindset techniques in bite-sized audio sessions via new 5-Minute Coaching.”
