YouTube has revealed its top-trending videos of 2020. This year,Dave Chappelle’sspecial “8:46 – Dave Chappelle” was the most popular, raking in more than 29-million views since it was uploaded in June.
Chappelle took a serious tone in the special to touch on the death ofGeorge Floyd,which inspired the special’s title. In ablog post,YouTube honchoKevin Alloccasays the comedian’s “impromptu, socially-distanced show captured the emotions felt by many” as racial injustice protests swept the country.
Another huge hit on YouTube was the “Saturday Night Live” sketch “First Debate Cold Open,” generating nearly 30-million views since it was published on October 4th. The sketch poked fun atDonald TrumpandJoe Biden’sfirst presidential debate, withAlec BaldwinandJim Carreyplaying the politicians.
