BLIND MAN RUNS 5K WITHOUT GUIDE DOG OR HUMAN

Thomas Panek is blind -- but that didn’t stop him from running a 5K loop in Central Park in New York City, without the help of a human partner or guide dog.

Amazingly, Thomas just used the Guideline app from Google. The app gave him instructions that he was able to hear in his headphones -- that allowed him to safely put one foot in front of the other.

Thomas believes “humans are born to run,” and has dedicated his life to helping others get out there, regardless of any challenges they face.

Running a long distance without any assistance was a huge victory for Thomas, who appreciates the feeling of freedom and independence, every step of the way.
