Scammers are calling people pretending to be from Apple or Amazon looking to get personal information.
The Federal Trade Commission is warning that the scammers will pretend to have information about suspicious or unauthorized account activity. The caller asks you to press 1 and enter account and personal information.
People are advised to ignore the calls and just hang up. Amazon takes it a step further. "Any customer that receives a questionable email or call from a person impersonating an Amazon employee should report them to Amazon customer service,. Amazon investigates these complaints and will take action if warranted."
