Looking back on the hairstyles you’ve rocked over the years, do you have a favorite time period for your hair? A new survey from One Poll asked 2-thousand American women about their “hairstyle journeys” and what they consider the best decade for ‘dos. And it turns out, bigger must be better to them because the 1980s came in first for most iconic decade for hair - crimps, perms, teases, and all. After the 80s, runner ups were the 1990s followed by the 1970s.
And when it comes to the most iconic hairstyles of all time? That honor goes toFarrah Fawcett’sfeathered locks from the ‘70s. Following Farrah, respondents voted forShirley Temple’scurls,Marilyn Monore’splatinum blonde hair andJennifer Aniston’s“the Rachel” cut from “Friends.”
The poll also asked women about their own hair history and finds the average woman has had six different haircut styles, four dye jobs and has experienced four completely botched hairstyles over the years. And while half of the ladies surveyed say they’re currently in a hairstyle rut and don’t know what to do about it, nearly eight in 10 say they’ve finally come to appreciate and love their locks during the pandemic.
